'Last chance saloon' in the Thames Valley as the paraphernalia of eletrification starts to appear at Lower Basildon and theph HSTs work out their final services on the GW main line. After nearly two centuries Brunel's railway has become an accepted part of this rural landscape but the new structures will sit ill-at-ease with the natural surroundings. Class 43 Power car No. 43168 leads the Cardiff-Paddington service through Lower Basildon on 27th May 2015.
