Class 43 HST power car No. 43080 is seen in it's original Inter-City 125 colour scheme during an overhaul inside Derby Works on Saturday 7th June 1986. Built at Crewe Works during March 1978 No. 43080 has always been associated with East Coast Services. Allocations have varied between Bounds Green, London and Haymarket in Edinburgh but in 1989 No. 43080 was selected to be one of the eight power cars fitted with buffers and made compatible to be a driving trailer vehicle with the new Class 91 electric locos then being built. Still fitted with buffers today she now operates with Grand Central Railways on their East Coast Routes re-engined and renumbered as No. 43480.
