Over the weekend of 27/28th September a pedestrian overbridge was installed to replace the foot crossing at Shepreth Branch Junction, just south of Cambridge. There was a total blockade on the lines over the weekend with trains from Cambridge to King's Cross and Liverpool Street being replaced by buses to Royston and Audley End respectively. The two lines branching to the right in the picture are the lines to King's Cross which join the East Coast Main Line at Hitchin. Here we see the finishing touches being applied to the bridge on 2nd 8th September part of a Network Rail initiative to improve safety at such crossings.
