These memorials have stood for over 170 years in St Johns Church graveyard in Bromsgrove marking the deaths of Thomas Scaif and Joseph Rutherford. They died in 1840 when the boiler of the locomotive they were working on in a yard at the foot of the Lickey Incline exploded. This accident led to the formation of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IME). picture taken on 26th September 2014.
