Class 50 No. 50008 "Thunderer", in Large Logo livery, is seen at Reading on 1st November 1990 rescuing a failed HST with Power Cars No. 43185 and No. 43144 on an Exeter to Paddington service. No. 50008 was repainted into BR blue livery before withdrawal in 1991 and eventual preservation.
