A surprise special was run to honour the 80th Birthday of W A Camwell (who was noted for running many SLS Specials round the Branch Lines of the Midlands) on 18th October 1986. The train started from his home city of Birmingham hauled by a Class 47 seen on the right of the picture and at Shrewsbury ex LNWR Coal Tank No. 1054 took over for the journey via Wrexham and Chester to Northwich. Here No. 1054 prepares for the rightaway from Shrewsbury.
