The Railway Touring Company's 'The Central Wales Explorer' is seen at Grovesend on the Swansea District Line while working 1Z89 on 5th April 2014 the 07:20 departure from Manchester Victoria which had travelled via the Heart of Wales line and was making its way to Cardiff Pengam Sidings where the LMS Black 5 No. 44871 would be replaced by a diesel for the return journey via Hereford. On the rear of the train is a West Coast Railways Class 47 (47245) added at Crewe to provide additional power following the failure at Warrington of another Black 5 (45407).
