Somewhat unexpectedly, the Berks & Hants main line to the South West flies over the High St in Hungerford, treating us to the view of 4000 tonne stone trains passing the rooftops of its historic buildings. The bridge has just been repainted in lined Brunswick green and the 1862 date commemorates when the GWR extended the line on from the original Hungerford terminus. Class 66/0 No. 66019 heads an unrecordered Class 59/1 and the westbound Acton - Merehead empties on Tues 18th June 2013.
