LMS No. 7050 diesel shunter was built as an experiment by the railway company in the 1930's in an effort to cut costs. In 1935 it was deemed a success and led to the company ordering more diesel shunters to replace steam locos working in its goods yards. Picture taken at the NRM, York on 15th December 2012.
