With the introduction of the winter timetable on 17th September 2012, the 05:33 Holyhead - Cardiff Arriva Trains Wales Premier Service was routed via Wrexham for the first time making reversal at Chester now necessary. To facilitate this manoeuvre the train was formed of Class 67s in top and tail mode pending introduction of a DVT at some time in the future. On the first day No. 67002 is seen here approaching Shrewsbury station from the Wrexham line with No. 67001 out of view at the rear.
