Class 47/4 No. 47853, repainted in the experimental XP64 blue livery, is pictured at Burton-on-Trent on 22nd May 2002 heading 1V39, 07:11 Leeds to Bristol Temple Meads service. At that time the cross-country service was operated by Virgin Trains and the locomotive-hauled services were withdrawn from the following August when Class 220 and 221 Voyager units were introduced on this route.
