On 9 July 2012, 'Steam Dreams' commemorated 45 years since the cessation of steam working on the then Southern Region of BR by operating a tour from Waterloo to Weymouth and back. The date has become a fixture nowadays and Network Rail gives special dispensation to run down the main line from Waterloo, rather than taking the long route via Staines, providing the rare sight of a down steam working along the main line. Here, a day after the end of the tennis tournament, Bulleid Pacific No. 35028 'Clan Line' is undaunted by the rain and pounds through Wimbledon, having re-started from a short stop at Earlsfield to remove a tail lamp from the front of the engine, which had inadvertantly been left there on leaving Waterloo.
