After an absence of stopping trains for five years Stone(Staffs) finally saw the return of services on 14th December 2008. Three weeks later, Class 350/1 No. 350125 calls on 8.33 Crewe-Euston. The station buildings, now in the care of the local Town Council, received a Railway Heritage award for their symathetic restoration, ironically during the period that trains didn't call there.
