The very last passenger working for slam door stock on the erstwhile southern region took place on 26th November 2005, when Southern trains substituted a 12 car rake of 4VEPs for the rostered Electrostars as a farewell gesture. The train ran up from Brighton in service and returned. A fairly makeshift headboard was carried and at least one guard's compartment carried a wreath within. The down train is seen entering Clapham Junction.
